Poka Yoke System Checks Automotive Frame
This system includes 20 cameras to validate the presence/absence and orientation of various fasteners as populated on a frame assembly. In station 1, the fasteners are manually populated, approximate count of 45. The frame then moves into the vision station where an image is captured, 1 from each of 20 cameras. The images are processed according to its associated part program for the fasteners within that image. A composite Pass/Fail judgment is formulated and reported via I/O to the line PLC. The system also makes a few gross measurements to validate sheet metal fit up.
A display of the actual part (3-D cad rendering) is displayed and any fault that is detected is circled in the appropriate area on the display which shows the operator what on the frame needs attention (fixed).
