Vision technology has been used for many years to check for the presence/absence of labels and to check content of the label. There are many cameras on the market that can accomplish this task. Decision Technology tends to deal with the higher end of this technology, which typically involves more complex requirements. Examples include: Systems that read and decode the DOT number off the sides of a truck as it passes thru a weigh station; Systems that check for off center / off axis labels moving down a line, taking into account surfaces that move in/out and can rotate a few degrees.
